FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your Uganda gorilla & wildlife safari

Is the gorilla trekking permit included?

Yes! The gorilla trekking permit for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is included in all our packages. Permits cost approximately $700โ€“$800 per person and are limited โ€” we secure them months in advance.

How difficult is the gorilla trek?

Gorilla trekking requires moderate fitness. You'll hike through dense forest for 1โ€“4 hours each way at altitudes of 1,500โ€“2,500m. Porters are available to help carry your gear. The minimum age is 15 years.

Will I see tree-climbing lions?

The Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP is famous for its tree-climbing lions โ€” one of only two populations in Africa that regularly climb trees. While wildlife sightings can't be guaranteed, our guides know the best spots and success rates are very high.

Can I fly instead of driving?

Yes! You can fly from Entebbe to Kisoro (~1 hour flight) instead of the 8โ€“9 hour drive to Bwindi. This saves significant time and offers stunning aerial views of Uganda. We can arrange domestic flights upon request.
